I am occasionally asked "who were the best three players in the world in 1995" or other similar subjective questions. In the table below, I list the players who have been ranked in the top three according to the ratings program. Only those players having an RRF (rating reliability factor) greater than 90 at the appropriate time have been included. The numbers in the brackets indicate the highest position that that player attained in the specified year.
